This is your blog. Write on it. Post links and videos and anything related to what we're doing in class. Read and comment on posts too.
You can find the syllabus and schedule on the right there.
Here's a talk by Henry Jenkins, the author of the text for the class. Watch it and so you know who is talking to you as you read the book.
And here is Mike Wesch on YouTube.
What do you think?
I actually found this legit interesting.
ReplyDeleteI even went so far to compare some points (about raising a new generation consider breaking the law part of the day) when compared to DUs new merged honor code (now putting 'no cheating' and 'no drinking' together, when talking to my new RA. Breaking the law (with torrents) is something we accept, and by putting drinking and cheating on the same list/category (as one of those happens a lot, particularly in college...) I thought this took away from the honor code of the aspect of not cheating. As well as, the same argument of driving torrents underground, this only drives other prevalent school issues like alcohol more underground, when really they should be addressed.
