One laptop per child created a laptop designed specifically to withstand harsh weather conditions such as extreme heat and humidity and even the lack of a power source. They are consistently making changes and improvements to the hardware as well as developing new easy to use and educational programs. Who knows what will happen to the world if everyone, n matter the economical status, has access to the internet. We are all becoming more and more connected everyday.
Wow, that's an interesting program I think. As we get more and more connected in our private lifes and in the business world, I think it's important to show kids how to use these technologies. They will just benefit from it. And also they will be the generation that will take it a step further some day.

I like your question, Becca, on asking how to will effect the world. But at the same time, its remarkably exciting to think about the potential future that is in store for humanity.
I totally agree with Sonia, spreading technology is great, but the treat is that with it, will come knowledge which boils down to power and progress.
