In Iran, internet censorship is both "routine and highly developed." It has been called one of the "most extensive technical filtering systems in the world." Ian Black, a Middle East editor with the guardian.co.uk, describes the blocking of social networking websites like Facebook and Flickr. Black also describes how the filtering in Iran can get so tight that the internet has been known to run at 1/10th the usual speed (for example -- during elections). Internet use is increasing at high rates in Iran and the tighter the government tries to control, the more people of Iran will turn to anti-filtering software or protests. This clip tells a brief story of "web warriors" in Iran that were working against the Iranian firewalls during the election last year.
