We've been talking a lot about growing up on the internet recently, and I wanted to talk about one aspect of this: Role playing. No, I don't mean in the bedroom, I mean in online games. There are a lot of games where the player takes on the role of the character, and that's all fine and scripted to the confines of the storyline in the game. But there are also very customizable games on the internet where players can create their own life to live out. It can become very addictive, and very time consuming, but many role players would argue that the reward of fun and unimaginable creativity are well worth all that.
